Nigel is the author of a children's story 'Magic in Ravenswood' (Heinemann). He turned it into a family musical, writing the book and lyrics (music BB Cooper). Now called `Magic' (previously 'Goblins Don't Scare Us'), it was the Christmas show at the New End Theatre, Hampstead, in 2002/3. It was played in Delaware, USA, in November 2008.

He has also written the book and lyrics for Rock Heaven (music Scarlett Deva Antaloczy), a cheerful rock/swing musical about a murderer, a rock star, a groupie and a lot of cyborgs.

He recently completed a fantasy novel called `worldoflegends.com', available on Amazon and on Amazon Kindle.

He has performed his own lyrics and monologues at various venues in London, including the King's Head Theatre, the Canal Cafe Theatre, Pizza on the Park, Madame Jojos and, most recently, the Pheasantry and the Crazy Coqs. In 2016 he took a specially devised show called `Angel to vampire!' to the Edinburgh Fringe. He subsequently performed it in other Fringes and in the studio at the Other Palace theatre. Since 2018 he has been performing `Too young to stay in, too old to go out!', both in London and various Fringes, including Edinburgh 2019. He also has an occasional podcast with the same name where he talks with inspirational people over 60. In 2022 he devised a new show called ‘Still ticking!’ which had its debut at the Ludlow Fringe.

As an actor he has appeared in several shorts based on his cabaret characters. 'Just One More Night' in 2005 was Nigel's first screen appearance. He played an actress and incidental characters. The only words were the lyrics to Nigel's song. In `Just One More Bite', 2007, he played a vampire. 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' was made in 2008. All three shorts have received many festival awards and nominations. He continues to act in short films for others and has played roles in two feature films, receiving a best supporting actor nomination in 2010 for his part in 'The Drummond Will'.

In 2013 he appeared on stage in a new play for the Camden Fringe Festival.

In 2014 he played the part of Castruccio, a drag queen, in an all male version of 'The Duchess of Malfi' set in the nineteen fifties and called 'Cover her face'.

In 2015 he played Binkie, a rather childlike poet, in a new black comedy called `A rather English murder'.

As a screen writer, his script for 'The Revelation of Reverend Jones' was nominated for an award at the Supershorts International Film Festival 2008. His feature length script 'The Road to Transylvania' was nominated as best script in the Swansea Bay Film festival 2008. He has also completed a feature length script called `Swansea Rose,' which was nominated as best script in the Swansea Bay Film Festival 2010.
